Locavore Rochester

Case in point: the photo shows cage-free GREEN eggs…now what is cooler than that.  Also picked up some water buffalo, Irish bacon, and  whole slew of other items.  Another photo after the break…

New French Restaurant in DC to try – La Chaumière

Pronounced ‘la show me air’, La Chaumière is as close as it gets to dining in a French country “inn”. The unpretentious atmosphere enhanced by the central stone fireplace, wood beams and stucco walls offers a rustic and romantic escape from city life. Loyal patrons are invariably dazzled by the consistent quality of food prepared by the award winning Chef de Cuisine Patrick Orange. Partners Patrick Orange and Martin Lumet along with their staff, thank you for the opportunity to serve you and hope that you enjoy your visit to La Chaumière.

DC to try, yet again – Ba Bay downtown…

Always on the Hunt for Red October, and good restaurants, Elaine came across an article for a new restaurant new Capitol Hill…Ba Bay.  An interesting article from Capital Spice is effusive about their cuisine.  We shall have to try when we’re bopping about downtown…

Red Rocks – Old Town … another place in DC try!

Imagine this…another place in DC to try.  This time a 2500sqft pizza parlor that’s got the same pies you know and love from Columbia Heights, plus bonuses like a tomato confit/mozz/basil “Filleto” pizza, a charcuterie menu with duck prosciutto and Jamon serrano, and a slew of new beers (30 bottles, 10 on tap) like Duck Rabbit Milk Stout, and a North Coast Brewing ale called Red Seal, who never got along with Free Willy at Sea World.

Located at 904 King St; Old Town; 703.717.9873
